My Citrix Synergy 2018 Review

Event

Today, my post blog will not be a technical article but a review of my 9th Synergy in raw.

This year my Synergy was packed with a lot of sessions and much more …

Monday:

After my registration, I went to the Tech Check for my future presentation with @legsam59 #SYN715 more information here after.

I had a lunch with cool guys @citrixavatar and #CitrixCTA @s_chebaro, @TheXenMaster, @dywwong and @zyphaz

Then I went to #CUGC Pregame to retrieve my new CUGC T-Shirt which is very cool.

Then I was invited to a Pre Synergy Dinner by #XenTegra, thanks again for that.

Tuesday:

Just before the Opening Keynote, I was invited by Citrix to discuss on NetScaler MAS.

2 hours of opening Keynote (I will not write here all the announcement as it has already be done on other web site/blog).

I went to see @Lindamkruse with @legsam59 to prepare our presentation. Linda is an experienced Public Speaker and coach lot of Synergy presenters (internal and external).

#SYN237 – Citrix and Nutanix: the 2018 inside scoop presented by @JarianGibson and @Kbaggerman.

#SERV100 – Battle Bots Competition. I was here at Simply Server like I did each year to spend some time with kids.

This year it was the 2nd Annual Battle Bots competition to Synergy. We join 32 high school students from the Anaheim school district to assemble and program robots.

Sixteen (16) teams will battle for the chance to be crowned the 2018 Synergy Battle Bots Champs.

We had a lot of fun with @legsam59 and @pcrampton

We had to leave before the end for our presentation but we discovered that our girls team have been in Final and finished 2nd.

#SYN715 – The XenMobile toolbox for implementation and support

It was the 1st time that #CitrixCTP @legsam59 and I present at Synergy and it was really a good experience of sharing our knowledge on #XenMobile, Rest API and PowerShell.

After there was the Welcome reception which allows to meet all the sponsors.

Wednesday:

I had to help a customer early in the morning and I just arrived at the middle for Dr. Condoleeza Rice session however I was really impressed.

#SYN105 – Deploying Citrix Workloads on different clouds: CTP best practices for a successful deployment

This session was proposed by  #CitrixCTP @Brinkhoff_C and @gkuruvilla and it was a great one.

Well explanation of how to deploy Citrix in the Cloud with a main focus on Azure.

#SYN211 – The naked truth: CTPs investigate Citrix Cloud performance

Another good one with #CitrixCTP @thomaskramp and @drtritsch explaining the performance with and without GPU on Cloud with the help of #LoginVSI tools.

Some fun with #Citrix #Lego

Thursday:

I started this one with customer issue remediation and was not able to attend Michael Lewis session.

#SYN236 – Best practices in multisite scenarios

This one presented by @JarianGibson, @dbretty and @shanekleinert was a very good one.

They well explained what is important to know and consideration to think about when you want to implement multisite infrastructure.

#MyCUGC – All Citrix CUGC Leader were proposed a 90 minutes Leadership Workshop and it was amazing.

Thanks to @Lindamkruse and her team for this session.

#SYN715 – The XenMobile toolbox for implementation and support

We were asked with @legsam59 to present again our session, so we did

#SYN231 – Manage your user experience from Workspace Environment Management Service
