XenMobile: Match inactivity timer with AD Settings

Xenmobile

Working on a new project, the Customer asked me how to change the delay for a device to become inactive to match with the settings used in Active Directory to disable user account.

The default settings is 7 days, in fact after 7 days of inactivity the device is disconnected and appear in the console as inactive:

The customer was using for their AD a 120 days policy to disable the user account.

So let’s see here after how to change default value and match with the one you could have on you AD:

  • Open a web browser and connect to the XMS admin portal

  • Click on Settings

  • Click on Server Properties

  • In the search box, enter inactivity and press Enter

  • Select the Length of Inactivity Before Device Is Disconnected property and edit it

  • Change the value to the one you want and click on Save

  • The new value appears in the console

Note. A Server reboot is not needed when you change this value.

Just after changing the valuem on the Analyze Tab you will see the updated number of inactive Devices based on the new value.

Note: Based on my own experience.
