I went back from customer and figure out an issue with GPU consumption.
In fact when a user launch a Linux Desktop the laptop is warming.
To explain a little bit more, customer is using RedHat in 6.8 and 7.3 with physical and virtual.
Customer was used to work with LTSR but an issue appeared on the physical Linux RHEL server 7.3 and to solve the issue the solution found by the customer in early October was to upgrade the VDA from LTSR to CR 1808.
The issue with laptop warming only appears with the physical Linux server.
Comparing this one to the other, the only 2 differences were:
- Physical server
- VDA in 1808
Here is what happened:
Citrix Receiver installed => 4.9 LTSR CU2
Before opening a published resources, GPU utilization is almost null:
Open a published resources, example RHEL68
After the desktop is opened
When we check the GPU consumption, we have:
It seems that this issue is a know bug as I got confirmation by Citrix PM.
You have multiple solutions to fix this:
- Use VDA LTSR CU3 on Linux VM
- Update Receiver to 4.9 LTSR CU5 on Endpoint
- Update Receiver to 4.12 or latest Workspace on Endpoint
