Working on a Citrix Cloud on Azure project, during our test, we had some poor performance on our logon time, specially with the Interactive Session.
Find out here after what we discovered …
During the Design of the project we planned to go with LTSR 7.15 CU2 for all components.
For information the Windows 10 is Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.228).
After initial build of all components, we tried our first tests and we discovered that our Logon Time performance were really high …
We tried multiples steps to optimize without any success.
We still had an average Interactive Session of 37.21 seconds!
Finally, after some research and tests, we decided to upgrade the VDA from 7.15.2000.291 to latest CR 7.1808.2.0.19074
And here is the point!
We were so impressed by the difference, here after the new Logon Performance
After the upgrade, we went to an average Interactive Session of 5.51 seconds!
It seems really weird for me that just updating the VDA can improve so much the Logon Time.
To resume:
Average Logon Time with VDA 7.15.2000.291 => 58.40 seconds
Average Logon Time with VDA 7.1808.2.0.19074 => 25.32 seconds
It seems that VDA 7.18 and 1808 have additional updates for newer releases of Windows 10 … To be confirmed by Citrix if possible.
I would like Citrix and/or Microsoft to provide some more information regarding those results …
Thanks
